The difference between Grade A and Grade AB isn't about how many defect they have, the defective rate is nearly the same for both. It's mainly about the color of the product.

Grade A is characterized by its pure white material with limited color variation, meaning it exhibits a high degree of color consistency. Additionally, Grade A has smaller, less pronounced mineral lines and allows for only minimal small defects.

On the other hand, Grade AB has an overall appearance that is not purely white; the color may be more subdued or off-white, and it can include smoother patches. This grade typically has more noticeable mineral lines and some color differentiation. The presence of water lines and the percentage of color difference can vary and largely depend on the specific characteristics of the wood itself.

So when choosing between Grade A and Grade AB, please consider which will the best suit your project needs.

The wood's color is influenced by seasonal changes. It tends to be darker during rainy seasons. As a result, wood cut in winter, which is lighter, is more suitable for products such as Grade A.
